About Me
I'm Gabriel Passos, a Blue Team Analyst building my career in defensive cybersecurity, with a strong focus on vulnerability management and security operations.
My journey started in IT support and infrastructure, working with Active Directory, Azure AD, corporate networks, and enterprise environments. That hands-on experience gave me a practical understanding of how real-world environments operate and, more importantly, what needs to be protected.
Today, I work with defensive security and vulnerability management, focusing on the identification, analysis, prioritization, and remediation of vulnerabilities. My goal is to understand security risks beyond the CVE itself, considering the affected environment, exposure, potential impact, and the actions required to reduce risk effectively.
What Drives Me
Technology has always interested me beyond a single field. Alongside my background in IT, I also have experience with electronics and software development, both of which remain areas I genuinely enjoy exploring.
My background in electronics helped me develop a practical understanding of how systems interact beyond the software layer, while development allows me to turn ideas into working solutions. My most used programming languages are Python, C++ and Shell Script, and I enjoy building personal projects and automation to solve practical problems and improve technical workflows.
I believe security isn't just about deploying tools or reacting to alerts. It's about understanding the environment you're defending. My background across infrastructure, electronics, and development gives me a broader perspective: every system, configuration, access policy, and vulnerability is part of a larger attack surface. My job is to understand that surface, identify where risk exists, and help reduce it before it can be exploited.
I'm particularly interested in defensive security, threat hunting, IT/OT environments, electronics, and software development. I want to continue developing as a hands-on technical professional, combining cybersecurity with automation, programming, and an understanding of how systems work from different perspectives.
